Volunteering with Safari West Zoological Society
Our volunteer program is currently under development. Please revisit this page soon for application details and opportunities.
Volunteering with Safari West Zoological Society will be a meaningful way to support animal care, conservation, education, and guest experiences on our preserve.
We are not yet accepting general volunteer applications, but opportunities connected to research and education projects are available through our internship program.

Other Ways To Help
- Visit Safari West and participate in tours and programs that directly support animal care and conservation.
- Consider a donation to Safari West Zoological Society to boost conservation, education, and animal welfare initiatives.
- Volunteers will need to be 18 years of age or older. (Applicants under 18 may be considered with parent or guardian consent.)
- A minimum commitment of six (6) months is required, unless otherwise arranged.
- Volunteers will need to follow safety guidelines, departmental protocols, and staff direction at all times.
- Some roles may require specialized training, background checks, or additional availability depending on the position.
- All future volunteers must complete an application and sign a liability release and media consent form.
Volunteer roles will vary throughout the year and depend on program needs, animal care priorities, and staffing capacity. While we do our best to match volunteers with their interests, placement is based on current availability and organizational needs.
We’re grateful for your interest and look forward to learning more about how you’d like to be involved.
